HeyDM's pricing page leads with ₹199/month for unlimited Instagram DMs, unlimited contacts, and unlimited automations. Two things are worth knowing before you read that as your monthly bill. ₹199 is the annual rate, charged as ₹2,388 upfront for twelve months. Monthly billing is ₹299. And there is no free plan underneath either of them, only a 14-day trial.
That still makes HeyDM one of the cheapest Instagram comment-to-DM tools with native rupee billing. The question is whether an annual always-on subscription matches how often you actually launch.
This is a researched pricing and fit analysis using HeyDM's own public pricing and product pages, verified on 2 September 2026. It is not a hands-on review, and nothing here is a test of delivery speed or reliability.
What HeyDM actually costs
| Plan | Price | What you are committing to |
|---|---|---|
| Free Trial | ₹0 for 14 days | No card required, full Pro features except branding removal |
| Pro Unlimited, monthly | ₹299/month | Cancel any month |
| Pro Unlimited, annual | ₹199/month effective | ₹2,388 charged upfront for the year |
The "Save 33%" badge on the pricing toggle is accurate. Paying ₹2,388 once instead of ₹299 twelve times saves roughly ₹1,200 a year, about a third. The tradeoff is that the advertised headline price only exists if you can commit twelve months to a tool you have used for fourteen days.
Both paid tiers carry the same feature list. The only thing the annual plan adds over the trial is removing HeyDM branding from your automated messages, which matters more for brands than for individual creators.
The trial is not a free plan
This is the distinction most comparison posts get wrong, and it changes who HeyDM suits.
A 14-day trial gives you full capability and then stops. A free-forever tier gives you reduced capability indefinitely. They serve completely different buyers. If you launch one campaign a quarter, a free tier with a low hourly send cap will carry you for years, while a trial expires long before your second launch.
Several India-focused competitors take the other approach. QuickDM's free plan throttles sending to 20 DMs per hour but does not expire, and more options are covered in our roundup of free Instagram DM automation tools. HeyDM has chosen a cleaner model with one paid tier and no permanent free option, which is easier to understand but gives you nothing to fall back on between launches.
What "unlimited" covers, and what still caps you
HeyDM does not meter DMs, contacts, or automations. That genuinely removes the pricing mechanic that pushes creators off larger platforms, where the bill climbs as the audience grows.
It does not remove Meta's ceilings. Every tool using the official Instagram API sends through the same pathway and inherits the same rate limits. For the Private Replies route that comment-to-DM tools use, Meta's documented ceiling is closer to 750 calls per hour per professional account than the 200 figure repeated across the industry, as covered in our fact-check of the 200 per hour claim.
So "unlimited DMs" is a statement about your invoice, not about a viral Reel at 3pm. What matters during a spike is whether the tool paces delivery through a queue or fires everything at once, and that is not something a pricing page can tell you. Test it during the trial with a post that gets real volume.
One feature contradiction worth checking before you pay
HeyDM's pricing page lists "Comment Re-trigger" as an included feature on both the trial and the Pro plan. Its product page lists "Re-trigger for old posts" under features marked coming soon, alongside "Live automation", "User data collection", and "Smart AI replies".
These may be two different features with similar names, or the pricing page may be ahead of the product. Either way, if re-triggering on existing posts is the reason you are buying, confirm it works inside the 14-day trial rather than after the annual charge. The same applies to the AI replies, which are advertised as a direction rather than a shipped capability.
Note also that everything HeyDM offers is Instagram only. There is no WhatsApp, Messenger, or email path, which is a reasonable focus but worth knowing if you were comparing it against multi-channel platforms.
The "zero risk to your account" claim
HeyDM states that it uses the official Meta API for Instagram and complies with Instagram's terms, "meaning there is zero risk to your account."
The first half is the part that matters, and it is the right thing to look for. Tools that automate through the official API behave very differently from those driving a logged-in session, and HeyDM stating this publicly puts it in the same category as most reputable tools in this space.
The second half is not a claim any vendor can support. Meta ran large automated enforcement sweeps through 2026, and reporting on those waves describes legitimate creators and small brands caught by classifiers rather than by any actual violation. Using the official API lowers your risk meaningfully. It does not zero it, and a vendor promising zero risk is describing its intentions, not Meta's behaviour. We covered what actually drives restrictions in Instagram DM automation account bans.
Treat "official Meta API" as the real signal and "zero risk" as marketing.
Where HeyDM fits, and where it does not
HeyDM is a good fit if you post constantly and want keyword automation running permanently without watching a contact counter. Unlimited contacts on a rupee subscription is the whole pitch, and for a coach or store answering the same keyword every week, ₹299 a month is a straightforward yes.
It is a weaker fit in three situations. If you launch a handful of campaigns a year, you are paying twelve months of subscription for a few weeks of use, and per-campaign pricing is the model to compare against. If you need the campaign to spread rather than just deliver, HeyDM has no referral links, bonus tiers, or leaderboards. And if you want a permanent free option to fall back on between launches, HeyDM does not offer one.

FAQ
How much does HeyDM cost per month?
₹299 per month on monthly billing, or ₹199 per month if you pay ₹2,388 upfront for a year. The ₹199 figure on the pricing page is the annual rate.
Does HeyDM have a free plan?
No. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, which expires. Some India-focused competitors offer a permanent free tier with a send-rate cap instead.
Does HeyDM really send unlimited Instagram DMs?
It does not meter your sends or contacts. Meta's own rate ceilings still apply to every tool on the official API, so unlimited describes your invoice rather than your throughput during a spike.
Is HeyDM safe for my Instagram account?
It states that it uses the official Meta API, which is the distinction worth checking and a genuine risk reduction. Its additional claim of zero account risk is not supportable, because Meta's automated enforcement has restricted compliant accounts.
Is HeyDM a good ManyChat alternative for Indian creators?
For always-on keyword automation on a rupee budget, yes. It is Instagram only and does not charge per contact, which removes the cost curve that pushes creators off ManyChat. It does not cover referral loops, leaderboards, or giveaway winner selection.
UnlockDM prices per campaign rather than per month, so a creator who launches a few times a year is not carrying a subscription between drops. It also adds referral links and bonus rewards to a campaign, which is a different job from always-on keyword replies.
