What UnlockDM is
UnlockDM is an Instagram DM automation platform for creators and brands. Fans comment a keyword, reply to a story or share a reel; UnlockDM verifies the follow, delivers the reward by DM automatically, and gives every participant a referral link that earns them bonus rewards.
It runs on Meta’s official Instagram API and is billed once per campaign — from $3.99, with the first campaign free — rather than by how many contacts you accumulate. It is built and operated by Eightinity Technologies LLP, based in India.

Comment triggers
Someone comments your keyword on a post or reel and the DM goes out automatically. This is the core workflow most creators run.
DM keyword triggers
Someone sends your account a DM containing the keyword and the same flow fires, so a link in your bio or a story sticker can start a campaign.
Story reply triggers
A reply to one of your stories that matches the keyword starts the flow. A keyword is required — the trigger cannot be set to fire on any story reply, which would read as unpredictable DMs.
Reel and post share triggers
When someone shares your reel or post into your DMs, that share can trigger the campaign attached to that specific post.
Follow verification
Before a reward is released, UnlockDM asks Instagram whether that person actually follows the account. Not a self-declared checkbox — a live API check, and there is no way for the participant to skip it.
Automatic reward delivery
The reward is delivered in the DM as text, a link or a button card — a discount code, a PDF, a Drive folder, a checkout link. Delivery is paced to stay inside Instagram’s rate limits so a viral post never puts the account at risk.
Referral campaigns
Everyone who unlocks gets their own referral link. Friends they bring in are tracked back to them, and they earn a bonus reward for it — so one post keeps working after the first wave of comments.
Referral verification and fraud flags
Referrals are only counted once the referred person completes the same comment-and-follow steps. Suspicious patterns — brand-new accounts, unusual timing — are risk-scored and flagged for review rather than silently counted.
Leaderboard and winner picker
A live ranking of top referrers, and a random or top-N winner picker for giveaways that draws only from verified participants.
Email capture
After the reward is delivered, the flow can ask for an email address, so a campaign builds a list you own rather than only an Instagram audience.
Campaign analytics and CSV export
Unlocks, verified follows, referrals, time-to-unlock and conversion per campaign, exportable as CSV.
Ice breakers
The tappable prompts that appear in an empty Instagram DM thread, configurable from the dashboard and pushed to Instagram directly.
What UnlockDM does not do
UnlockDM is deliberately narrow. If you need any of the following, a broader platform is the better tool and we would rather you knew now.
- No DM broadcast to past participants, and no scheduled or bulk messaging.
- No multi-step chatbot builder, AI replies or shared team inbox.
- No self-serve agency plan — one login connects one Instagram account today. Agencies run client campaigns individually and can email us about pricing.
- No WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok or email sending. Instagram only.
- Rewards are delivered as text, links and buttons. File and video attachments are paused while delivery is verified with Meta.
- No story-mention trigger. It needs a Meta permission we have not applied for.

How we keep your account safe

Official Meta API + Instagram Login
UnlockDM uses Meta’s official Instagram API. You connect through Instagram’s own login screen — UnlockDM never sees your password.
No scraping or browser automation
There is no scraping, no browser automation and no unofficial endpoint anywhere in the product. Every action goes through Meta’s published Graph API.
Rate-limit-aware delivery
DMs are paced through a queue to stay inside Instagram’s rate limits so a viral post never puts the account at risk.
You can revoke access at any time
Access is revocable from your Instagram settings whenever you want, without touching UnlockDM.

Platform and API
UnlockDM uses Meta's official Instagram API with Instagram Login. There is no scraping, no browser automation and no unofficial endpoint anywhere in the product — you connect your account through Instagram's own login screen and can revoke access from Instagram at any time.
The permissions granted through Meta's App Review are instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_manage_messages and instagram_business_manage_comments. Eightinity Technologies LLPhas completed Meta's Tech Provider Access Verification.
