Data Deletion Request

This page explains how to request deletion of your data from UnlockDM, as required by Meta's Platform Terms.

Who Can Request Deletion

Two types of people may have data stored in UnlockDM:

  • Creators (account holders) — people who signed up for an UnlockDM account and connected their Instagram Business or Creator account.
  • Campaign participants— Instagram users who commented on a creator's post, participated in a campaign, and had their username and interaction data processed through the Meta API on the creator's behalf.

What Data We Hold

For creators

  • Name, email address, and account settings
  • Connected Instagram account username and API access tokens
  • Campaign configurations (keywords, reward URLs, DM templates)
  • Campaign analytics and activity logs

For campaign participants

  • Instagram username (handle) — received via the Meta Graph API
  • Instagram user ID — used internally to track follow status and referrals
  • Reward delivery status (whether a DM was sent to you)
  • Referral count (if you referred other participants)

We do not store the content of DMs sent to participants beyond what was configured by the creator. We do not store passwords, phone numbers, or payment information for participants.

How to Request Deletion

Option 1 — Email request (all users)

Send an email to info@eightinity.inwith the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:

  • Your full name (for account holders) or Instagram username (for participants)
  • The email address associated with your account (if you have one)
  • A brief description of what data you want deleted

Option 2 — In-app deletion (account holders)

If you have an active UnlockDM account, you can delete your account and all associated data directly from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This immediately removes your account, campaigns, and all associated data from our systems.

Option 3 — Revoke Instagram permissions

If you connected your Instagram account to UnlockDM and wish to revoke access, you can do so from your Instagram or Facebook settings:

  • Go to Instagram Settings → Apps and Websites
  • Find UnlockDM and tap Remove

When you revoke permissions, Meta notifies us automatically and we will delete the associated Instagram access tokens and linked data from our systems within 30 days.

What Happens After Your Request

  • We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days.
  • We will delete or permanently anonymise your personal data within 30 days of receiving the request.
  • Some data may be retained for up to 90 days in encrypted backup archives, after which it is permanently purged.
  • We may retain anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you.
  • We may retain data where we are legally required to do so (e.g., tax records, legal disputes).

Meta Platform Data Deletion

As an app built on Meta's platform, UnlockDM complies with Meta's data deletion requirements. When a user removes UnlockDM from their connected apps via Facebook or Instagram settings, Meta sends an automated deletion notification to our systems. We process these notifications automatically and delete the associated data within 30 days.

If you have submitted a deletion request and wish to confirm its status, email us at info@eightinity.in with your confirmation reference (if provided) or your Instagram username.
